Event: Looking Up! Business and Opportunity in the Crown

Looking Up!  Business & Opportunity in the Crown of the Continent  October 3, 2013.  Coming right up on October 17 and 18 is a rare opportunity to hear Orvis CEO Perk Perkins talk about how Orvis works to protect water, wildlife and natural landscapes as part of its business model of success.  This will be a presentation you will not want to miss

Orvis is famous for its fly rods and fishing gear.  Over the years Orvis has diversified their outdoor outfitting business to include clothing, home interiors, canine products, and guided trips.  Just as importantly, Orvis has made a significant commitment to "Protecting Nature".

The Orvis Mission Statement reads,
"If we are to benefit from the use of our natural resources, we must be willing to act to preserve them. Therefore, Orvis commits 5% of pre-tax profits to protecting nature. Orvis grants typically focus on specific, on-the-ground habitat projects. Projects dedicated to the acquisition, restoration, enhancement or long-term protection of native fish and wildlife habitat receive priority. Our conservation work is targeted towards habitats that function as an integral part of the landscape and are faced with imminent threat of loss. We also give strong consideration to organizations and projects dedicated to advancing canine health and well-being."

Orvis provides grants and has partnered with numerous conservation organizations that protect the basis of the company's success.
